Recreation OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

 

GOLF TOURNAMENTS – St James Bay During this time, these events include special safety practices such as separate golf carts, temperature checks, and open air gatherings. Volunteers are used the day of event for registration, beer carts, “goodie bags,” hole monitors, putting contest judging, etc.

 

 

RACES & RUNS – Island Center Volunteers provide water to runners, mark the course, and collect litter. 

  • Red Pepper 5K Run (Chili Cook Off Charity Event). First Saturday in March.

  • St George Island 5K Sizzler and One Mile Fun Run. (Elder Care Community Council)

WINTER BINGO – SGI CIVIC CLUB – Volunteers at the SGI

Firehouse distribute cards, collect funds, serve refreshments and call the letters/numbers. Tuesday Nights, January through March. Time Required: two hours a week. Attendance is limited; social distancing and mask wearing are required.
